The Lord has made known his salvation: Information for Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Lent is upon us!

Today is Shrove Tuesday. With “shrove” being an Old English word meaning “confessed,” this day is a golden opportunity to prepare for your Lenten journey with the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession).

Abstinence: Including every Friday in Lent, this means no meat may be consumed. Seafood, dairy, and eggs are permitted. The norms of abstinence are obligatory for Catholics above the age of 14.
