Annual Parishioners Meeting
Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting last Sunday. Your thoughts and input are always a greatly appreciated contribution, and we look forward to incorporating them into the future of our parish.
As requested by you, Fr Robert discussed the issue of parish boundaries and Wardens with the Episcopal Vicar. A potential solution was presented, which Fr Robert will look into with our Wardens.
Speaking of Wardens, a warm welcome to Paul Lafontaine, Raymond LaRouche, and Rosario Tapia, who were all elected as new Wardens at the meeting! Their work officially begins on January 1st 2022, and we thank them for coming forward to serve our parish.
There was enthusiasm regarding a Visioning Team. Anyone interested in contributing their time and ideas to the first meeting of a Visioning Team is invited to speak to Fr Robert after the weekend Masses. This meeting will take place in the next couple of weeks.
You expressed your thoughts on our music. We invite all who are interested in sharing their thoughts about music for the Advent and Christmas seasons to a meeting with Fr Robert after the 11am Mass on Tuesday, November 23rd.
Family Faith Formation
We are very excited to announce that Family Faith Formation is returning to in-person gatherings on Sunday, November 28th 2021!
Our November 28th Gathering is mandatory for all current participants. Please arrive at Saint Thomas More (980 Moffat Ave) in time for the 9:30am Mass.
If you are not yet enrolled in FFF and have been waiting for our return to in-person gatherings to register, please contact Angela at email@example.com by 4:30pm on Tuesday, November 23rd.
We’re also looking for one more Catechist! If you are searching for more joy and fulfilment in your life, please consider joining our team of volunteer Catechists! No experience teaching (Catechism or otherwise) necessary – all we require from you is a love for Christ and for families, and a commitment to the future of the English Catholic Parishes of Verdun! Please contact Angela or Father Robert if you would like more information.
Magnificat – December 2021 issue now available
Parishioners who subscribe to the Magnificat may pick up their December issue on the shelves at the back of the church. There are a couple of extra copies at a cost of $5.00 each.
Annual Canned Goods Collection begins!
The Annual Canned Goods Collection for our Christmas Baskets is underway and continues until the weekend of December 18th – 19th.
We are accepting donations of non-expired canned or boxed goods and non-perishable food items. We especially need the appropriate foods associated with meals during the Christmas Season (example: canned fruits and puddings, cookies and treats for children).
Parishioners wishing to make a donation towards meat and other perishables are asked to place their offering in the St. Vincent de Paul Boxes on the walls at the back of the church.

“Sometimes all it takes to save a life is the willingness to talk, to listen, and to offer the kind of support that Jesus already enjoined upon us in the Gospel: to love others as He did, and share our own material and spiritual gifts with generosity."
In September this year, the Spanish Diocese of Alcalá de Henares celebrated the Baptisms of fourteen children saved from abortion through the work and love of the John Paul II Rescuers Association. Read the stories of some of their mothers at https://bit.ly/3x3pvFY
